Question Blu-ray is here

Over the next several years the classic DVD format will be phased out. Blu-ray is already out. Is there anyone out there working on cracking the new format?

Hahaha!

Yeah, either that or alternatively you could always contact Sony and ask them if they're aware of anyone who might be doin' a good job of cracking the media!

I don't even know anyone with a blu ray player yet. Personally i think classic dvd format will be around for awhile. Blu ray is obviously better quality, but not as big of a jump like vhs to dvd. From what i predict i will be using classic dvd and windows xp for as long as i can.

Why release films when hardware is not available? So far, I have only seen Blu Ray computer drives which cost £650!!! Even these cannot play Blu Ray as no software can play the discs.

Blank Blu Ray Recordable discs are £15 each and a Blu Ray RW is £20.

Blu Ray is supposed to be officially out around November in the UK.

Thread moved to OT - this has nothing to do with DVD Shrink and never will.

Regards

Not sure what it has to do in off topic.

The big boss created some new forums for this type of stuff. Lets use one of those...
