Default End of support for Windows 98, Windows Me

Just noticed that Microsoft will no longer support Windows 98 and Windows Me. You can read about it here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/sup...ofsupport.mspx

Edit: I probably should have put this in the News forum.

So the push for Vista is on! Likely see another XP SP, and then all they will care about is getting us to buy Vista. I'll likely be a sucker and do it!

They shouldn't have released them to begin with.

So true! I remember when 98 first came out. It was a miracle if I made it through the day without my computer hanging or crashing.

I still have a year 2000 computer with the ME operating system on it. It has a 700 mhz CPU and a hard drive of 20 gb.

I used it for backup, I used to use it to create SVCD for the movie only on two CD-R disks. I keep it cleaned out real well to keep the resources as high as possible.

I think Microsoft is going to STOP support July 11, 2006 on 98 and Me operating systems.

I have tried that it works for some of the games and some just work on XP but there are some it doesnt work with. Or it works sort of meaning the games starts then stops while playing.

I gave up on it and through windows 98SE back on our 3rd computer. The only thing that one really gets used for anymore if those games that dont work on XP.

And its holding some data. LOL

BB and a few others recently ran a sale for XP Home Upgrade Edition for $49. Keep an eye out for future sales.
