Alright thanks again for all you help. The fans are the ones that came installed in the case already when i bought it so maybe that could be it and the case is actually under the desk on a self so maybe I will try and move it on the desk or something and see if it gets better air flow up there. I really do appreciate all your time.

Hope it helps, those cpu's have gone up in price and are gonna be hard to find. Mobo's burn up too.

a 7800rpm fan ? - is it a 40x40 fan???

and you still didnt tell us WHEN you measured the temperatures
is it idle or after heavy duty?

and maybe you should really name the cpu-cooler to give us a clue what you're dealing with

I know alot of pp here own nec 4550, is this good to buy this external Nec 4550?

Can you cross flash and make it to Nec? and Nec is an exellence burner?

Sometimes people take them the other way, the maddog firmware is often just as good or better, my 3520 flashed over was fine, but I couldn't scan with cdspeed?

I just want to save my philip/benq to scan, with the sony lighton is out of control and plex716 take two more months to get here ( so I cancel it), I am looking something new so I can work on and make it a new learning tool , Sam sell less then 100$.

why external? If you want a real project get a special case that will do
almost 16x on usb2, I like the LG's for just burning. And the nec 3550
can be a good burner.

buy an internal nec4550 and save lots of money

btw the 4550 is fine - i bought one a couple of weeks ago

btw night is in the usa and the 4550 is not available here except as the maddog at higher prices
and the 3550 is the same exact hardware as the 4550/1
