Default How do I convert a trp file and burn the movie in Image burn?

When I copy a movie with my satellite DDR (external hard drive) the movie is saved as a trp file. I used image burn and it converted to an iso file and burned it but the disc will not play. Any suggestions on how to work with these trp files? Please help!

Try using SUPER to convert your trp first and then burn the result with Imgburn.

Is there a link to the "Super" program? Is it freeware like Imageburn? Thanks in advance.

Thank you. I found the link and downloaded. The program seems very sophisticated and I can't find "TRP" anywhere. Is there an easystep manual explaning how to convert "TRP" to "?" (I'm not sure what format) to use in Imageburn? Super has many choices and settings that need to be made. Sorry, I'm somewhat of a newbie, thanks for being patient.

I don't use it much myself.

Your output container is going to be VOB, DVD compliant
Your output video codec will be MPEG 2
Your output audio will be AC3

VIDEO Scale should be 720x480 for NTSC or U.S./Canada or 720X576 for most the rest of the world.
Aspect will depend on if you will be viewing on a SD TV or widescreen TV. 4:3 for standard and 16:9 for wide.
Frame Rate will be 25 for PAL or 29.97 for NTSC

Now you should be ready to encode. Once finished you should have a VIDEO_TS folder. Open Imgburn in Build mode, browse to your new VIDEO_TS folder and burn it.

I followed your instructions, settings, etc. and Super seemed to convert the trp file (798 mb) and it created an iso file (1.6 g) in the output folder. No Video_TS folder was created. I opened Imageburn in bulid and it created a VTS 01 0.VOB file (1.6G) & I burned to a disc. It will not play. This actual encoded VTS 01 0.VOB file will play using Super but it is not ready in this format to be burned to a disc. I know I'm close. Please help!

Hi Chris,

When you have an ISO ... that is an IMAGE of your file ready to go. The only time you use Build Mode is when you have a VIDEO_TS with bunch of VOBs ... the build mode will output an Image.

When using ImgBurn to burn an ISO file choose "Right Image File to Disc" option > Uncheck Verify Button (my personal choice) > Change your Write Speed to 8X or lower ... never burn faster than 8X ... that should do it.

BTW, check out ImgBurn Guides here ...

Post back your result.

This is from the Super Site:

Quote:
DVD converter Convert any supported input file to VOB-DVD. Convert VOB-DVD files to any other format.
The rendered VOB files are DVD-standard strictly compliant and "TMPGEnc DVD Author" compatible. They are
seamlessly accepted by the "TMPGEnc DVD Author" which will add the necessary Menu, create the
additional .bup and .ifo files, rename/split the rendered VOB file to Vts_xx_x.vob before burning to DVD.
Now I have not done this direction with Super as well, but my understanding is THIS guide will help you to complete your project.

Good Luck

I've tried this and Imgburn burns my ISO file to the disc but the result is a disc with a VOB file and will not play. What am I doing wrong?
