Default Processing multiple files

I have a lot of AVI DV files and I want to encode all of them into MPEG2, with the same settings. But I have to add each of them one by one to the Batch encode list (the file selection dialog box doesn't allow selecting multiple files).
Is there a way to do this?

Default

I used a VB script a few times to automate this in the past and it seemed to work pretty well. I think it's the one described on this page:
