Default TMPGEnc not the best for audio encoding?

I read online that it is best to use TMPGEnc only for the video, and encode the audio in a separate application...
Thanks for your opinion.

Yes, TMPGEnc Plus only outputs audio MP2, and most of the time I am looking for audio AC-3 if the source disk has it.

If you are doing stream processing you can get AC-3 audio from VOB EDIT software program.

The replacement for TMPGEnc Plus (TMPGEnc 4.0 XPRESS) with the plug-in has the ability to output an AC-3 audio file.
