Did/Do You see this Error trap Window???
TitleWriter hangs up after the message "Thread Slow or Paused..." is repeated in View Log as follows.

Just Uploaded testbed 5_28

Jinjin_jp
Now Squishing text to fit cell -- TW will Kick 1 sec warning box and add Log entry (Probably remove later warning box later)
It does significantly slow down rendering when TW has to squish text

Tetsuro_ja -- Hopefully Fixed Error window
Applied softening to preview

As To MenuShrink -- No that actually doesn't surprise me at all --He rewrites everything Clean.

Oh Boy what I did.
I have no idea if it works (I do not have that DVD)
I "smartened" TW deep conditionals up to see (And hopefully load button entrys for pgc10 types)
Hopefully then HappyFace will see and be capable of fixing such a situation as per normal.

If you could test it by completely undoing (including MenuShrink)--Readd (without Menushrink) etc and see if Pgc10 Button entries are there.

Edit. Now it works, it found all the buttons on the first try.
Nice Job.

Thanks.

*both side of some button text is invisible.
are fixed. Thanks very much.

What is the advantage of "Use Text for PlayAll,Main, etc Buttons"? Default is checking on. I think better to check off (= use Bitmap).

Error of "Soften Button Highlighted and Selected colors" can be avoided by following to what the warning say (= reduce softening or change thmbs per page).

And I understood the meaning of 5_27 or 5_28. Thanks very much.

Thanks for TestBed5_28.

I confirmed:
1) the result of "softening" slider was reflected on Preview; and
2) the hangup problem was fixed -- DOS window was displayed when softening was failed.

Well -- thats refreshing a testbed where everything works (So far)

Jinjin_jp
Heres some observations on "Squish"
Its default because all the Text you see is in the Same fontface.
TW is faster usingText/font that fits in cells versus using bitmaps. (Ive found 22 to be the "magic number on most fonts in NTSC
Tw will only apply Squish when Text is about to be clipped.
The warnings are a flag that TW is adjusting character width (And probably height a bit) resulting in perhaps uneven char sizes from cell to cell --To fix reduce either font height or Text content.

(increase the font to say 48 watch what happens -- Besides teeny tiny thumbs)

Softening is fine -- Actually its an offbeat spumux error -- The pngs I'm feeding it are always about the same size. The 4x3 matrix is larger then the 2x3 -- Monkey scratch head

Could I see the TW generated entries for Pgc10 (from Menueditor) and the Vob Cell in it. I need to Verify something.
(I've got a feeling I'm writing the Wrong entry LBA for that cell it should be 0 -- not where it actually found the buttons)

Titlewritter -- Just joshing you -- But you were consistent

Well it says 0 -> 42930 sectors. Save as the previous version
Is that what you mean?

That what I wanted -- Thanx
I guess I did it right -- Looking at the code it just seems as though it should be wrong though.

One more question then I'm done fixing that problem --
In Happyface when Pgc10 vob is selected -- Do the buttons show up right off the bat in viewer or do you have to move the slider to see the colored rectangles.

Thanks for the explanation. I understand the advantage is same fontface.

I noticed bigger improvement than I expected by your explanation.
The problem which I posted "both side of some button text is invisible" was about bottom buttons i.e, PlayAll in MovieMenu and Scenes, Setup and Movies in MainMenu. It can't be avoided by except for using bitmap.
I noticed that "both side of text is invisible" when TitleName is long, too. But it can be avoided by adjusting font size to small. I didn't expected about this.
Now I noticed that TitleName is also adjusted not to be invisible. Thank very much.

Regards.

They show right off the bat.

I'm not sure of exactly what you are saying

Question In testbed5_28 -- Does Squish fix All text clipping everywhere at your end
(All chars of Text string should be displayed (Perhaps distorted beyond recognition but there))

Running more tests -- It seems My Squish is comparable in speed with standard DrawText call (and it really really shouldn't be) -- Very Weird -- Or more Microsoft stupidity

Dirio49

Yes that nails it down -- The sub search is also working properly
Now I'm a Happy Camper

Sorry, what I want to say is ;
About bottom buttons (not TitleName),
When checking on "Use Text for PlayAll,Main, etc Buttons", both side of some button text is invisible.
When checking off it (I think it means to use bitmap), both side of some button text is not invisible.

FallenAngel,
Thanks for your explanation about Softening.

I has a question about Compressing Text in TestBed5_28.

1) I used one VTS having one title.
2) I selected MS UI Gothic as FontFace.
3) Force buttons sizes to 4 Movie Grid -- ON
4) Use Text for Play, PlayAll, Main, etc Buttons -- ON

On Preview in the above condition, TitleWriter issued the message "Warning Compressing Text to Cell PlayAll" regardless of Font size.
Is this correct?

Regards
