I have a few Pioneer Tivo's with built-in DVD burners. Apparently the lasers are getting weak because while they play DVD's ok they don't burn them very well. The problem is that the Pioneer DVD drives inside use custom firmware for Tivo and so you can't just install a stock drive, they will read but not burn at all.
I have searched online for hours trying to find a way to copy the existing firmware from my working drives to be able to put it into similar replacement drives. This forum looks like a place where someone might know how to do this. The drives I have are Pioneer DVR-105-XA and DVR-106-XB. Can anyone help or send me in the right direction? Thanks very much in advance! Rob |
