Default Putting a movie on a thumb drive?

I just bought an HP Netbook Mini and the netbooks don't have disk drives. Is it possible to watch movies on a netbook. I was thinking that a dvd ripper could possibly do it, but which software would be the best for that? How much can a movie be compressed, and in what formats?

Sorry, we can't talk about rippers or ripping DVDs on this forum. Please see rule 19.

Regards

You should only use genuine Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden media. Many thanks to www.pcx.com.au for their supply and great service.
