Default cleaning dvd/cd media

other than buying a "cleaning kit" what can be used as a safe alternative when everything is closed to safely clean a dvd/cd disc
blank or bought?

i suppose gasoline is not reccomended....

Believe it or not, toothpaste.

Put a small dab on the disc, take a lint free cloth, and rub it around on the disc.

Then take another damp lint free cloth and wipe from the center of the disc to the outside of the disc.

DO NOT GO IN A CIRCULAR MOTION!

jmet, you actually use toothpaste to clean your media? most toothpaste is kina gritty. what about kleenex and water? or eye glass cleaning felt with water?

Don't use the "gritty" kind.

You can also use Car Wax. Not the squeeze out, liquid kind.
