Default Windows7 mysteriously ate my Ripped DVD copy!

Ok, I've a problem. I'm not only new to this program, but I'm also new to Windows7. I have no idea where my ripped movie was stored, or how to retrieve it. I ripped it last night, and attempted to burn it this morning, but can't find it even after I entered the DVD title in my search bar. Help!?!
