    ..:: DVD Viewing ::..

    Hi all,
i have recently bought a PC110 Sony Digi Cam and I have been changing Old Cine films to digital format , I was SHOCKED to find that 1 reel takes up 2.5 gb
I decided to put it onto DVD format. I want to be able to watch it on a DVD player and a PS2
Can you please tell me what EXACTLY i need. Ive got about £600 to spend.

    Please respond

Go to this site, which despite its name, provides a wealth of information regarding standalone DVD players:

Video forums, video software downloads, guides, blu-ray players and media.

This will be important for you in determining which player to purchase, since you'll find detailed information regarding compatibility (DVD-R, VCD, SVCD, etc.)

      Ok you will need a

      Computer

Capture card (the DV Wonder card from ATI or something like it)

DVD Authoring software (Ulead DVD Movie Factory, Sonic DVDit, Pinnacle Studio 7, DVD Express etc.

A DVD Recorder (Pioneer DVR A03, DVD-R media etc.

The DVD-R general media will play on your PS2 and on most DVD Set-Top players

The tools available for creating DVDs on desktop computers keep getting better and better.

And surprisingly, as the hardware and software gets better, the prices of the equipment continues to fall.

An example - the DV Wonder card from ATI. It has 3 firewire ports, includes Ulead Video Movie editing software, is OHCI compliant (can control your camcorder via firewire card), can create video, VCD, DVD, streaming video (for net). Works with almost any version of Windows.

The suggested retail price is $49.95, and that includes a 3-port firewire card and Ulead Video studio software, and the firewire cable needed to connect the card to a digital video camera.

The ATI Video Wonder card has been available since June. For more info visit http://www.ati.com/na/pages/products...der/index.html

Even more powerful video editing cards are available - if you can spend $500 you can get video editing hardware/software combinations that closely compete with what the big studios paid millions for just three years ago.
