KISS DVD 450 FW 2.6.6 DOES NOT PLAY DVDs

I've just wrote the following e-mail to KISS :

Hello,

I’m still waiting for an answer!

How is it possible that a DVD player does not play DVDs ????!!!!!!

You have provide a firmware at http://www.kiss-technology.com/suppo...50fw266pal.zip online without a prior proper Quality Test !!!! with Kiss-DVD 450 (in Spain - Region 2) and Firmware 2.6.6 no DVD movie is shown !!!!


When are you going to provide a proper costumer service ??


At least, when are you going to answer my e-mails? When are you going to provide a firmware 2.6.7 solving the BIG BUG???

Is it necessary to post my complains at every Internet DVD-players forums online for you to pay me a little bit of attention???

You can find that the problem I submitted last Saturday is a bug in the update version 2.6.6 of Kiss-450 models.

Se han detectado problemas después de la ultima actualización ( versión 2.6.6) con algunos discos DVD originales, la solución esta en instalar el firmware anterior (2.6.5) con instalación FULL y luego la versión ultima (2.6.6) también FULL y no update. En caso de seguir teniendo problemas con algun disco DVd original no duden en comunicarnoslo.

I’m sending to you this e-mail in order you can help me,

I have bought a Kiss DVD-450 player in Media Markt at Alcalá de Henares (Spain). Prior to leave this shop the firmware of this model was updated to version 2.6.6. When I arrived home I could check that divX performed outstanding but I got surprised when I realised that It did not play any DVD, none of the many I tried which I can watch with no problem on my other DVD player. Today I’ve gone to the shop and I’ve been told that this could be a normal behaviour after updating the firmware.

Michael Rosenfalk from kiss-technology has answered my e-mail with helpful information.


"I am sorry that you feel this way .

At the moment some customers are having problems with firmware version 2.6.6 not all. Som of them can correct it by brun a new update cd with Nero Burning rom 2.6.6 , "Disc At Once" and with 4x. Then they update the player with by a "Full Update" and then most of the DVD if not all works.

We are looking at the issues with some DVD players which will not play , but it is fixed in the next firmware version ."


I really thank the attention, and the polite way He answered me. I will try to use the workaround He mentioned and see if it works in my case. I will let you know about it.

It has been a pleasure to get in touch with somebody like him.

(Anyhow I'm telling to all of you that a Full UPDATE to version 2.6.5 and afterwords a Partial Update to version 2.6.6 solves the issue.)
