    Blurry picture / codec?

    Hi,

I have a problem several people here seem to have.

When playing certain XVIDs (not all!) I have the problem of "blurry" playback. I read heaps of threads, but couldn't find advice which helped me solving my problem....

I tried ffdshow, nic's xvid codec and koepi's xvid codec. Sometimes I have audio, but no video and sometimes I have these "blurry" pictures...

I also tried the "old xvid interlace bug" option on ffdshow!

    I have a screen captures from Nandub. I used koepi`s xvid-codec!

I would really appreciate your help!

    Cheers,

    MM

either try one of the LATEST ALPHA version from april or may 2003 of ffdshow.

if you did use those versions already, then i might ask you if we're dealing with a downloaded file that might be corrupted during transfer?

      Thanks for your quick reply!

I tried ffdshow-20030523.exe which seems to be the latest version....

The movie I tried is a tv-rip and some people wrote in a thread that they can watch it without any probs and some that they have the same problem - but no advice there!

I also tried other episodes, so that it doesn`t seem to be a problem of a corrupted download.

      Cheers,

      MM

when using ffdshow, which decoding filter is being used?
did you try the internal libavcodec? (inside the codec properties)

and what player were you using?

Within ffdshow I tried the "xvid-codec" and the "libav-codec".

The players I used are Radlight, Power DVD and BS-Player.

If there is a player with better compatibility, I`d give it a try...!?

          Thanks!
