WinDVD 5.3 - wish we could use something else..

It's a real pity that WinDVD is so commercial - all they listen to is the sound of cash, not user requests.

    - Why is it I can ffwd/rwd with the mouse wheel, yet in order to play the movie when done fast-forwarding, I have to use the keyboard or click the Play button? The mouse wheel should have a position for Play (I believe PowerDVD has this).

    - People have complained about scenes slightly speeding up when there is a scene/chapter change. I have seen this at times too. What's going on?

    - I read recently on www.majorgeeks.com (software news site) that WinDVD 5.3.5.2.0 is out. It seems that because WinDVD is so commercial and 'user-friendly' now, there is no mention of the new version on their website. There is no bugfix/changes list at all.

Unfortunately, WinDVD provides the best DVD quality and interface available at the moment. I used to use PowerDVD all the time - it is faster and more efficient than WinDVD, yet the picture quality is lacking compared to WinDVD 5.

    Comments anyone?

I find the video quality better in PowerDVD5 better then WinDVD 5. A lot less artifacts and cleaner. I guess it varies on computer to computer
