    Vitualdub speed issue

I just got virtualdub and tried to cut the last part (credits) of a divx movie (lost word) so that it fits in a cd. (that's to bring it from 710mb to 700mb). But it seems that vitualdub takes hours to do the job. Is it a normal thing ? or has it got something to do with my machine ? Also is there any other software which can do this much faster ? your help is much appreciated.

Sounds like you DIDN'T set BOTH "Video" and "Audio" to "Direct Stream Copy".

If you do this, the process you've described will take only a minute (or less)...

        hey setarip,

could you also be kind enough to tell me approx. how long would it take to convert a 40min. avi to mpeg-1 using TMPGEnc. It seems it takes a lotta time. (I'm not sure whether it's normal or not). thanks again for ur help.
