    subtitleplayer with black background

Is there a filter that puts the subtitles with a black background?

The reason is that I have a divx movie that already has subtitles encoded in the picture, but in another language, and it gets confusing when the english subtitles with vobsub is on top of the old ones with just white text, so you see the letters mixed up. I realize I can just move the subtitles in vobsub, but I prefer them to be at the same place. Also I don't want a permanent black box over the old subtitles, only when and where the new subtitles are. So I want the subtitles to have a black background, that covers whatever subtitle might be behind it.
