    Problems with DVD Compliance

I use DVD Shrink to rip a whole DVD, no compression, to the Hard drive.

I then use DVDRemake to edit out the usual bits and pieces that are not required and export this to a second directory.

I then use DVD Shrink to compress down the edited directory to fit on one DVD.

I use TMPGEncDVAuthor (just the tools bit for writing DVD folder to DVDs) to burn it. All projects in the usual VIDEO_TS directory etc.

Now, this has been working fine until recently. Some of my re-authored directories, when I try and burn them, complains of "The structure of the appointed folder canot be used for a DVD player.".

I have also tried burning the folders using Nero with a similar non-compliance message.

I have noticed in some cases, when shrinking down the edited directory, that the 1 DVD sized directory produced seems to be missing some files - notably VTS_02_0.VOB. There is a VTS_02_0. IFO and BUP and then a VTS_02_1.VOB - but sometimes no _0.

This has only recently started happening. I have also tried shrinking down the original unedited rip and got the same faults.

Firstly, anyone else had a similar problem, second, is there a utility anywhere that will run a DVD compliance check on my VIDEO_TS directory and tel me if it is not compliant, in what way.

    cheers, Ray
