    Playing Burned DVD(skipping)

Burned a movie with Verbatim DVD+R using Shrink3.1 and Nero.
The copy plays fine on the computer and in portable DVD player but when put in stand alone DVD player by TV the movie pauses then continues. The 2 stand alone players are Sony and the portable is Toshiba.

    Windows XP
    1.5Gb Ram
    3.0 mhz P4
Sony DVD +R DL Burner (i used single layer dvd's to burn)
    Verbatim DVD+R

A sony standalone DVD player isnt the best choice if it comes to backup CD's and DVD's.
Try using other DVD brands that are more compatible with the standalone DVD player.
Try using the DVD-R type. Some say the DVD-R type has a higher compatibility rate with stand alone DVD players.
Look on the internet and search witch DVD+-r Types are best for the stand alone DVD-player you own.

    That should do the trick...

        Try burning at 1x dude

Burn at 1x if possible and that will reduce the skips on your dvd's to almost nil playing in a dvd player made for home theatre use.
