Need Player THAT WORKS after ripping

After ripping some DVD's I found some compatibility issues with players. I would appreciate any feedback from other ripper individuals as to the success (or failure) of players being used. WinDVD 2.1 came with my DELL and seems to play everything fine. However, I'm going to play these files on another system and WinDVD 2.1 won't load on anything but a DELL. WinDVD 3.0 trial has a problem with one of the two files I recently ripped - the file is about 5.5GB and WinDVD 3.0 displays an error message when trying to load the file "An unknown Error occurred while accessing an unnamed file". WinDVD 3.0 also displays the file size incorrectly as 11+GB instead of 5.5GB (I seem to only have success ripping as one big file). Haven't been able to get PowerDVD to display any sound at all on anything ripped. I'm guessing it's an Audio Mapping issue. In order to play any ripped file just in the WinDVD's I had to specifically map the Audio to 0x80. Any suggestions would be really really appreciated.
