Recode 2 High Quality Mode VS DVD Shrink AEC

Does anyone know what the "High quality mode (slow recoding)" in Recode 2 is set to. In DVD Shrink 3.2, AEC is set to "Sharp". There doesn't seem to be any way to change it in Recode as there is in Shrink.

I read Trion's comparisons between Recode and Shrink and found it very interesting. I did a speed comparison of my own. I used the movie "Man on Fire" doing a full backup on both Shrink and Recode. Ripped it with DVD Decrypter, removed extras with TitleSet Blanker and kept only the AC3 5.1 english audio. With Shrink I used deep analysis and AEC Sharp. With Recode I checked Advanced analysis and High quality mode.

My results: DVD Shrink 3.2 took 50.5 min for analysis/encoding. Recode took 35 min for analysis/encoding. Quite a time savings.

My system specs: P4 3.0 w HT (800 mhz fsb), 512 mb ram, 160 gb hd, NEC DV5800A DVD rom, Pioneer DVR-106D, and ATI Radeon 9200 128 mb video card.

Yes, I'd like to know that too! I don't think it's set to "Sharp". I'm suspecting it's set to "Max Sharp" which would explain the speed advantage of Recode (since "Max Sharp" is generally faster).

Hhmmm.....

Also, is it possible in Recode to set an Subtitle- or Audio-Stream to "active" (which is sometimes necessary with forced subs) like Shrink can? I haven't found it yet and I think it's a very important feature...
