Is the DVD you put in blank - your log has "Blank check command error"

It seems when I put in a blank DVD disk something is writing to it something audio.

When I put a blank DVD-R or a blank DVD-RW into the recorder and go to my computer and look at E: drive is is showing AudioCD.

It's weird it's showing you have a DVD-r in the drive. Why not try uninstalling the drive and the ide channel it's on and reinstalling them both.

Still Confused

I removed the drive and IDE channel, rebooted and reloaded both, rebooted again. I used DVDFab Decrypter and the opned with DVDSrink 3.2, I am using Memorex DVD-R 8X, using Nero to burn at 1X's. Still fails: Burn process failes at 1X

At least now the drive is not recording audio to disk before it starts the process like before. Any one with any ideas?

Problem Solved

I ended up uninstalling Nero 6.6.014 and then reinstalling. Problem solved, now burning like the good ole days......

If your problems continue, here's a bit of info I posted in another forum. It sounds nuts, so please don't negatively critisize before trying out the 'fix' ... (it worked for me): - quote below -

You're gonna LOVE THIS!!! I found 'the fix' ... and it's surprisingly simple. I kept getting 'fixation errors' intermittently. Changed drive layouts, tested different ASPI layers, tried different media, uninstalled software, reinstalled, etc.. Still, I would get these errors intermittently. And sometimes, one right after another.

You will not believe this. But, next time you get a fixation error, check which FOLDER in Windows Explorer is highlighted. Guaranteed ... it's the FOLDER you're burning to CD or DVD. For whatever reason, Nero (in my case) will NOT complete the cd/dvd if the source folder is being accessed by Windows Explorer.

I happened to notice this 'goofy' event and 'suspected' it may be the problem to fixation errors. Sure enough, I would delete something else and the file I was about to burn was suddenly highlighted in Windows Explorer. EVERY TIME that FOLDER was highlighted, I would get a fixation error. EVERY TIME I highlighted a DIFFERENT FOLDER, the disk would burn perfectly.

Again, I know this sounds TOO simple to be the problem. Remember, next time you get a fixation error, before doing anything else, check Windows Explorer and see what FOLDER is highlighted. I would guess the same would be true for those who use "My Computer" rather than Windows Explorer.

After you've discovered I'm not a 'troll', please pass on the information to others who are having the same problem. I have a few hundred wasted cd's from 'rediculous' issues such as this. Hate to see anyone else have similar headaches.
