how to find out what DVDs would work with my laptop's slimtype DVD writer?

is there a way to find out which all dvd (company names) will work with my DVD writer ? coz i bought 5 DVD of 1 company and they worked, 2nd i bought 5 DVD of another company from the same shop and they dont work. so now i am hesitating to buy more than 2-3 as they may not work.

i am not very sure what is the make of my laptop built in dvd writers make is also ?

i ran the program you told about but i though my DVD RW drive was called slim type. but here it says device : ARTEC and some firmware ver :

1. how to i look for blank DVD names (what companies eg, ritek, data cell, datasafe, bulkpak etc) that would do a job good on my dvd writer ? and with my device :
