Demux audio from WMV HD

Hello All.
I searched web to find inforamtion regarding demuxing WMA Pro from a WMV HD file.
I cannot find any so I am writing this.

I am trying to delete the audio in a WMV HD file and mux another audio to it.

With Windows Movie Maker, WMV HD file can be loaded and muting all audio and save it will do this. But it takes huge amount of time, many digits minutes. Plus it onle reencode to 2Mbps, cannot encode to 6Mbps.

With VirtualDub, I was able to load the WMV HD using AVS and with WMV9 VCM. But this file takes more than 5 hours to save. With Xvid it was 2 hours.

Is there any faster way to demux audio or delete audio from WMV HD file which is about 2GB ? It is 720p and WMA Pro.

Also which method is best to remux WMV HD with other audio file ?

The CPU is Athlon 64 4800+ dual core and 2GB.
Windows XP SP2.

make sure you have windows media encoder 9,

go start-->program files-->windows media encoder-->utilities-->windows media stream editor

WM 9 was installed. If not, WMV HD file cannot be played.

Yes I tried WM Stream Editor before.
But I could not figure out how to demux or delete audio with Stream Editor.
Please give me detailed instruction if it is available.
I was able to point to the WMV HD file but what next ?

I was able to figure it out to strip audio from WMV HD.

Next question is what is the best way to remux the WMV HD video only with other audio ?

use stream editor again. but first the new audio must be encoded to wma i believe, as the wmv container sucks

Yes.
I demuxed audio from a DVD title with A1 DVD Audio Ripper.
But it looks like it cannot extract DTS 5.1 into multichannel wav or wma.
What is the best tool to extract multi channel audio from DVD ?

Then the extracted audio will be encoded into WMA using Windows Media Encoder.

I am stuck in the first step.

According to the tutorial you gave me,

in order to have decrypter split the soundstreams into single songs we will have to change this setting:

=> tools => settings => IFO => file splitting ==>> by CHAPTER

With dvddecrypter 3.5.4.0 this menu is different. I cannot find IFO.
There is IFO Mode. In IFO Mode thre is no "by CHAPTER".

This tutorial refers to different version of DVD Decrypter ?

Now another issue.

By using BeLight, one VOB is converted to WAV which has 5.1 channel in one file.
I load it into Windows Media Encoder to convert it to WMA.
But it refuses to load it.

Shall I cretae 6 separate WAV files ?

if wmencoder can mux them back to 5.1 again at the other end. i'm not sure whether it can, i never touch wmv content

It might look strange what I am trying to.
Let me explain.

I purchased WMV HD film on DVD-ROM and it also comes with DVD-9 in a separate disk.

I found that the WMV HD audio is just music and no narration.
So I want to replace the music only auio with the DVD-9 DTS 1.5 audio with narration.

The created 1st chap-1-1.wav cannot be loaded to WMP 10 and WME.

It can be played with CoolEditPro.

I thought WMP can play WMA 9 Pro multichannel audio.

If the audio is 2 channel I was able to change the audio with Windows Media Stream Editor.

This is where I stand now.

p.s. I checked the WNV HD file and it has 384 KBps, 48KHz, 6 channel, WMA3. And this can be played with WMP 10. It looks like WMP and WME cannot handle 6 channel WAV or Can they ?

if you don't mind a different approach (what i would do myself):

demux the 5.1 audio from the dvd9 (i like dgindex for this, but dvd decrypter is fine) run media player classic, click open.

you'll see this dialogue box:



point the 'open' box to the video, and the 'dub' box to the audio file you demuxed. it should play

you can burn the files onto a dvd, and play like that from now on. infact, you could get MPC to load the audio automatically, just name the video and audio files the same and place in the same folder, eg video.wmv and video.ac3
