I would have run checkdisk first, those MFT's look bad, I think windoze got real confused(fragged)!
I would have offloaded some data also to allow a little more white areas.
BTW one defrag won't fix.

You haven't been accessing that partition to burn from have you? Sort of looks like coasters
in the making.

that partition has never been used since it was installed (the HD). my pc is as free as can be. that's why i finally did it because i cleared up some space.

I don't think LT Columbo is ever going to get promoted to Captain Columbo if you current captain see's that current hard drive that looks like it has never been defraged. OUCH, what is the sergent doing? Here is an assignment for him.

that's what happens when you work, always multi-task on the pc and never shut it off. it would be useful to do a clean windows install one of these days.

Now I don't feel so bad when I defrag at 5% fragmentation.

I use PerfectDisk 7 which is a lot better than the standard windows program.

Whenever I get my computer cleaned of decrypted movies, shrunked movies, and iso's, I use CrapCleaner first then I defrag about 5 times. This speeds up the computer immensely because when restart again, I am able to rip and decrypt very fast. Your hard drive doesn't have to bounce all around to move files through the processor. That the second worst I had seen. My friends son had never cleaned their hard drive. It was 36 GB of 40GB of fragmented music!

I defrag once a week..I am always told that it doesn't need it but i do it anyways..but I still have 86% free space so it doesn't take very long.. I gotta say Looie my jaw dropped when I saw all those red lines

How big is your harddrive? And why do I feel dirty with the way that question came out??

2 HD 200GB total. only use 160 of it. i don't know why you feel dirty derree. maybe you need to be changed?

anyway here is my first burn since the de-frag. the first test turned out perfect--all green squares, 0 errors. good=100%.



at the start of the burn the buffers i noticed fluttered a bit which never happens, then stayed good full all the rest of the way. i had 2 other applications running while burning this disc.
