    Question about ImgBurn process

After just going the Shrink to Nero route for so long I thought I'd go the more profession route and use DVDRebuilder and ImgBurn. Was just wondering why the latter, after formatting, spends 14 min. erasing a blank disc. Are my settings not proper?
It's not that the extra time is that much of a big deal (after starting rebuilder it's off to work and hope it's done when I get home), just seems kind of a waste of energy from this tree-huggers point of view.
Then again maybe I'm still the newbie I think I'm not!
    Thanks for any input.

Probably erasing process require so much time because you are doing a "Full erase". Try to do a "Quick erase" instead

One of the new "features" in the latest release of that program. If you are using a RW+ disc - the program will always do a full erase (the quick one is disabled and even if you do such a one in another program - it will not be accepted by ImgBurn). The only solution if you want to do a quick erase is to use RW- discs.

I have no clue to why you can't "force" the program to accept a quick erase. For just a test burn on a shrink compilation it seems just odd to have to do a full erase.

Just seemed a bit redundant to me but I'm not surprised that maybe it's related to the "Too many formats for one media" thing. The reason I go with the +RW is that I've never had a problem with them not working in a multitude
of players and I've heard that that's not the case with the -RW.
Oh well, certainly not one of life's more irritating situations.
