    avs filter required? w/cce or procoder2

    is avs filter required if my original source is pretty clean already
    i'm using either cce 2.50 or procoder2 w/dvdrb
    the dvd files size is originally around 5 - 6G and will reauthor to dvd5 size

    i've been using the avs filter below for my sopranos:
    RemoveGrain(mode=2)
    Deen()
    asharp(1,2)
    DCTFilter(1,1,1,1,1,1,0.5,0)

    is the filters above pretty flexible for any kind of video quality or the filters set to strong for cleaner video

    can someone provides a different setting for each filters above for soft, medium or harsh

            chris, there cannot be a correct or meaningful answer to this question because you will have to consider the following facts:

            a 90 min movie compressed from 7 => 4.37 gb will look WAY better then
            a 125min + bonus 35 min material compressed from 7 => 4.37gb

            do you understand what i'm drivin at?

            it is NOT the amount of compression in gb but the FINAL bitrate that matters!!!

            should you face ~2200kbps than a good encoder (like procoder2 - c.f. this test) in addition to a smoothing filter like flux + undot may help providing better results

            should you have ~3750kbps you better dont use filters unless your source may require something like a denoiser
