    Applying filters

Is there a way to apply the avisynth filter only on the last pass of the encoder. For eg, if I have configured 3 passes, the filter should apply only in the 3rd pass and not in the first two.

The logic behind this is that since most avisynth filters are meant to clean/process the video, they should process in the last pass (final output) only saving some time and processing power.

I might be wrong here though, its just a thought!!!.

nope, not a good idea. gotta be the same source for both passes-- if they're not, the analysis data is invalid, you might as well encode the first pass with a completely different movie! :^)

Damn, I was really hoping that this was possible. But what you say makes sense. I don't want to lose the effect of the filtering entirely, that would be horrible, as some of the dvds that I use are pretty noisy, at least in parts.
