    'Output Path' question...

G'day! I'm super confused! I'm new to this whole DVD copying thing, and so, all the jargon and programs and stuff has completely stumped me! I hope to learn, but for now, I'd really appreciate some questions answered. They all pertain to the function and role of certain programs. I've recently bought a copy of Hitchcock's "Vertigo". Before I lend it to my sister, I'd like to make a copy of it. I've downloaded and installed DVDFab Decrypter. I then want to be able to move all the movie information back onto a blank DVD. "Vertigo" comes to 7gig. I'm happy to buy a Double Layer DVD to fit the movie. I've also downloaded and installed DVD Rebuilder, because, given the name, and having read what it's supposed to do, I thought I could then use DVD Rebuilder to put "Vertigo" onto the blank disc. But, reading through some of the guides, it appears DVD Rebuilder doesn't actually burn movie files onto blank discs! If I make the "Output Path" in DVD Rebuilder my DVD-Optical-Drive (E:\), will the 'rebuilt' version of "Vertigo" be burnt onto the blank DVD disc? (And ready to be used in a DVD player?) Any help or advice would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

Firstly, DVD rebuilder is a program that uses unprotected DVD source files and squeezes them into a single layer and dual layer DVD's by reencoding the Video.

Secondly, if you already have a Dual Layer DVD, you just need DVD decrypter(with PSL2 plugin if its an ARccOS dvd) an PGCedit to make a copy.

You can either burn using DVD decrypter, Imgburn or the software supplied with your burner, once you have the extracted DVD files.

      Hi Nestle,

Read this fellows signature - Essential programs. Also, don't forget to check out the "Golden Rules of Burning".

DVD Shrink & DVD Decrypter (Now IMGburn) is all you need to do simple backup like you are attempting to do.

The guides are fairly straightforward & easy to understand.

EDIT: - Note IMGBurn is only a burning pgm. - DVD Decrypter will be needed to "rip" the DVD to your Hard Drive.

      Cheers, katz
