mp4 player skips

I bought an mp4 player 2 days ago and downloaded several songs. they worked for a day and now when i play them about ten seconds into the songs it stop and skips to the next. any solutions?

By mp4 player do you mean one of those cheap Chinese players that have nothing to do with mp4 or any actual mp4 capable player, such as I guess an iPod?

if you haven't changed the songs or any settings, return it to place of purchase and get a replacement or refund. i recommend the latter

You could try cleaning the needle, or adding weight to the tonearm.
