i know amd is gaining market share and currently outperforms most of their product line, but after conroe benchmarks and the less than stunning AM2 what are we supposed to think?

the benchmarks are all from intel controlled tests at a conference, the real tests will be anandtech etc, but only after prices settle down.
Sure core2 duo is technically superior in some aspects, they still don't have the onboard memory controller. core2 duo will only be 20% of intel shipments
in Q1 07, dell will get a lot of those. They pulled the same crap when the P3
gigahertz came out. Amd must be healthy tho.

I sure like my AMD 64 3700 and my ATI X800 256 Pro. I hope AMD does well, I never liked Intel. I have had longer legs wioth AMD and it seems to run my CAD sofware better. I have always had great product support with ATI, my X800 has a 3 year warrantee and is was refurbished my ATI!!. (It only cost $179.00 U.S.). I think and hope it works out but sometimes you don't want two of your friends to meet if you know what I mean.

Be interesting to see what happens with ATI's chipset product line. Can't think of anyone I know other than myself running an ATI based board (interesting to note though that it also uses an ULI chipset which is now owned by Nvidia). I know plenty of people with nForce boards. Maybe AMD can swing things the other way?

the ati crossfire boards are the "hottest" now, I have been seeing them used in the newest bench scenarios.

the via 880/90 then NF4 now crossfire
