How to edit DVD+RW using PC?

I recorded a TV show on my stand alone DVD recorder using DVD+RW blank. The editing feature on my DVD recorder is really primitive and a PITA to use. Is it possible to edit the DVD+RW using my PC and DVD burner? I want to get rid of all the ads and junk before ripping and burning it to a DVD+R permanently. Looking for freeware that can let me do the editing on my PC. Any suggestions? Thanks!<!-- google_ad_region_end=op -->

DVD Shrink says "invalid DVD navigation structure". There's a title page created by my stand alone DVD recorder.

BTW, what can VobBlanker and DVD Shrink do in terms of editing? I thought they can only remove the entire title but I'm looking to remove bits and pieces here and there, say TV ad in the middle of a title. Thanks!

You've never realized that these tools can do more things than you know. For example, VobBlanker can cut or save any part of the movie you want to remove or keep. Just look at the guide included below:

I ripped it with DVD Fab to the HDD but Shrink won't open it.

It sounds like you have to clean it up first with either FixVts or VobBlanker as suggested. Did you use the latest version of DvdFab?

Use FixVTS and process the "Full DVD" to make it more compliant.

I used VobBlanker to cut out the junk. But the new file still has the edited stuff in it. Any idea?

Shrink does not work with DVD+ recordings from a TV DVD Recorder. The structure is different.

TMPGEnc DVD Author will read the DVD ok as well as read any ripped files from the hard disk. It can also cut bits out of the video and burn a new disc.

Rip it to the hard disk with DVD Decrypter instead of DVDFAB.

Did you press the Add DVD Video button? Then go to the DVD files on the hard disk. Or, try reading the DVD directly.

Finally got it up and running with DVD Decrypter ripper instead of DVD Fab. Now is there any cheaper alternative to TMPGEnc? The price of this software is a bit steep. Thanks!

You won't find anything that even touches the same capability for the price. TDA is the best, in my humble opinion.

BTW, will there be any loss in PQ when you use TMPGEnc to edit out the junk that you don't need from any DVD?
