Windows Media Player Missing MPEG-2 Codec

I'm really out of my element here and looking for help. I'm having problems playing certain mpegs in Windows Media Player. These files played fine just days ago, but now I'm getting an error downloading the codec (MPEG-2 Subpicture Decoder).

I have very little understanding of codecs, and I can't figure out why this has popped up so suddenly. I've recently installed some DVD photo software, but I don't know if that's related.

I've tried re-installing Windows Media Player (v10) to no avail. Please help!

    Thanks,
    Jay

Thanks Anonymez. Would you happen to have a link for that? I found some references to it on Google, but not sure what exactly I need.

I dug around tyring to figure out what happened, and I'm pretty sure it was the DVD software that I installed that screwed me up. I ran Gspot and got this as "problems":

I'm not sure what this is telling me, but I'd like to know what happened.

      Thanks,

Download Media Player Classic 6.4.9.1 [2011.04.11] : Media Player Classic (MPC) comes with a big load of extra features you will enjoy

VLC is also a good alternative to installing a bunch of codecs. VLC has built in codecs for a lot of formats, including DVD (MPEG).

Codec Pack all in one is best

Sorry, I thought the dcaler5 works but it doesn't. I'm a die hard fan of Windows Media Player so I thought you guys should know that Codec Pack All-In-One is the best. It includes the MPEG2 2.0.0.0 which solves the problem and other filters. For full details and to download it, please click here.
