Audio Out of Synch using new TMPG DVD Author 3/Divx

Hello, after using the trial version of the new TMPG DVD Author 3/Divx, I decided to buy the thing after discovering they were offering it for sale at nearly $22 off the retail price. The trial version worked perfectly, but the retail version has been givimg me a problem. The sound is out of synch on certain AVI files. The original AVI files play fine in Win Media Player 10, but none of the dvds I've created using the new retail TMPG, are audio correct. I emailed tech support and here is the advice I was given:

Please go to Options > Preferences > select Input plug-in > and uncheck
the first DivX File reader.

This may be the problem that we have patched and will have the update
released soon.

I did that but the problem persists. And I've email rech support again. So I wondered if there was anyone here with advice on getting this problem fixed.
I don't see any threads about the new version, but I'm hoping someone can help.
