    TMPGEnc DVD Author: Motion menus

I know I can enable motion menus and set the duration of the motion, 10sec 15sec etc. is it possible to set where in the the video those 10 or 15 seconds are instead of just playing the first 10 or 15 seconds of the video. in other words, I would like to have 10sec of a clip that is about 45 minutes into the video as my motion menu. is this possible? Thanks

Yes it is possible. In the menu editing area, select the menu page that you wish to edit, go to the "Page Editor" section, right click on the thumbnail that has the motion and select "Menu item settings". Here, you can set a start and end frame for the animation, and also if you want the animation to loop or not.

I have the duration set to 10sec in the other settings page. can I just set a start frame and it will play for 10sec or do I have to set a start and end frame? Will it override my 10sec setting if i choose a 15sec start and end frame?

The behavior is like this, I think:

        * If you set the start/end frame and this period is longer than the motion menu duration, the animated menu will still only last the length of the motion menu duration and will cut off before it reaches the end frame (by default, the end frame is the end of the video clip). So yet, you can just set a start frame and it will play for 10 seconds (it won't override your motion menu duration settings, I don't think).

        * If you set the start/end frame and this period is shorter than the motion menu duration, the animation will only last for the start/end frame section and then stop (or if you have selected the "loop" option, it will loop until the motion menu duration is reached)
