Divx AVI playback freezes

Hi

I have a standalone DVD player which also plays Divx avi files. I'm encountering problems with some avi files in that the playback freezes in a specific place. E.g. I have one disc with 4 avi files. The first one always freezes at the same place. The other 3 files on the disc play fine. I've tried the disc in my laptop and all files play OK. I have another disc with 12 avi's, 11 play perfectly but I have no end of problems with last one sticking. This disc also plays fine on my laptop. I always use the same type of disc - Imation +RW.

I never have any problems with normal DVD's on the standalone player.

Not being an expert on these things, I was wondering would it be a fault with the player or something to do with the avi files themselves?

Probably the latter. Please post info about the problematic avi files using Mediainfo

Divx AVI playback freezes

Had the same problem...try using -RW..worked for me.

-AL- how are you burning the .avi files onto the media?
Are you using Nero and InCD or Imgburn or what?
