    3D TV heads our way

3D movies may have been knocking around in cinemas since the 1950's but next month will herald the arrival of the first commercially available 3D-enabled television in Australia.

What exactly is meant by a 3D enabled TV? Last time I checked, 3D movies were just illusions made on 2D TVs...

I'm guessing this is for the more advanced form of 3D found in IMAX theatres and such, which use shutter and LCD type glasses, as opposed to the old "red/blue" glasses.

That would be great but then again we'd have to buy the glasses.

          just got 2nd HD tv..

I love new technology but Jesus H. I do wish it would slow down for a year or 2..

you no sooner buy into 1 and the next "better" or improved is knocking on your door.

I used to be so happy at one time with a new CD player for movies and a Sony Walkman for music..

It's my own fault because I "have" to stay on top of everything thru forums like this and other Internet info sites.
"Ignorance is bliss" is starting to mean something more to me these days,,,lol

3D movies usually come with glasses...

I got Shrek 3D as a bundle with the movie, and it came with 4 pairs of red/blue glasses, as did Spy Kids 3D.

But I'd prefer stuff that came with polarized lenses... I saw Harry Potter 5 in the IMAX, but misplaced my glasses during the 3D scene. I was hoping it would make it to DVD, but alas it didn't...
