    Power Calibration Error on XBox backup

    I'm getting the exact same error when trying to burn a backup for xbox 360.

    I'm using a brand new Pioneer 116D with Verbatim DVD+R DL, made in Singapore. I managed to successfully burn two backups earlier but now it just won't work. I've tried at least 20 times.

    The burner is currently used through a controller card, could this be the problem? I have the newest firmware (1.06) and as I said, the burner is new so I really don't hope that there is anything wrong with it.

    I would love it if someone had any idea!

      I was getting random write errors and power calibration errors on a computer I built for the wife. I also tried different disk will also did not fix the problem. Changed out the power supply which did not fix the problem. Then I finally swapped the DVD ROM drive to another IDE cable and the problem went away so it is possible that you may a bad cable. I would check the voltage on the drive durring a burn to see if the voltage is at least 12.5Vdc and it is not varying.
