    Yet another I/O Error

I've never installed or updated the driver/firmware for my BenQ DW1650 DVD-R drive, but now I think I may have to look for an update because I cannot burn any disks on it (programs such as ImgBurn give me errors when I try to write an image to a blank disk).

Would anyone here know what is the latest driver for the DW1650 SCSI? I've seen some sites host a driver updated in 2006, while some I've seen updated in 2009, hence I'm confused. And when I tried installing the firmware, it said that I already have the latest update.

    Here is the full log:

    Hi Tomi,

I am not sure if anyone will repsond to this ... but with my limited knowledge ... here is the "Help" that I can offer you ... unless Chewy or Blutach come to your rescue ...

    1) Your BCFC Firmware for DW1650 is about 2 firmware Older ... so that might make a difference ... but since BenQ has gone out of Business ... here is couple of websites that still hosting them ...

Also here is the Dangerous Brothers "REGION FREE" version of these firmwares ...

And below is a Digital Digest postings on "HOW TO for Firmwares" ...

The official forum for FirmwareHQ.com - discuss site and firmware related issues here

    2) Also another thing that you can try is to Revert back to ImgBurn 2.4.4.0 or earlier and see if that helps.

    Post back your results please!

    G!

You need to use much better media then what you are using. Try using Verbatim or Tayo Yuden. Verbatim are good and the T Y are the best media you can get.
