    DivXLand and VirtualDub incompatible?

I am amazed that DivXLand Media Subtitler GUI lists captions in the subtitles file (e.g., *.ssa) in one numerical system and VirtualDub uses another. For example in VirtualDub, a caption that commences in frame 29879 (19:55.160) and ends in frame 29959 (19:58.360) is listed in DivXLand as starting at "1195160" and ending at "1198390." What do the latter numbers represent, frames? Surely not.

Both DivXLand and VirtualDub also show time, which do match. But how can one add captions accurately without the ability to stop at frames? The "Press and hold mode" (clicking on "Apply" button at the time you want caption to start then release mouse button when you want it to end) seems crude at best...and you can't preview the result without running the lengthy embedding process. Either I'm missing something or DivXLand is not compatible with VirtualDub.

Like almost all Help files, the one in DivXLand tells you WHAT to do but not HOW to do it...utterly useless (that's why we come to this forum). If anyone has found a way to efficiently add add subtitle captions to an AVI file please share.
Working...
