Subtitle problem on Media Player PLEASE HELP!!!

    Hey everyone

I'm a Japanese translator and I have started doing subtitles for movies recently. I use media player 11 and it was a quick and great way for me to get the timing of the subtitles accurately.

I use it because if you click at any point in the movie, the subtitles load up from that point (i.e, if you click on 10 minutes, the subtitles from the .srt at the 10 minute mark will start from there too).

I recently installed an update from DivX, and since then, if I let the movie run from 0:00, the subs will play fine, but if I try to skip to any other point in the movie, the subs start playing from zero again and won't play the line it's supposed to at the correct time.

Has anyone encountered this before and know of any way to fix this?

    Thanks so much in advance!

I'm not sure what happened. But I do know WMP 12 can display PGS and XSub subtitles. It may be worth upgrading even if it doesn't fix this. Another player to try would be SPlayer. I think the slider works better afa picking up the subs in progress. Also SPlayer has an auto download feature that attempts to find subs for the flick you are playing. I like the Portable version.

btw for WMP 12 PGS subs display you may need to have Matroska Splitter installed.
