DVD to MPEG-1 Encode - Software Suggestions

Hello,

I currently use an Optibase Encoder program to turn my DVD's made with my Sony DVD recorder into MPEG-1 files that can played in Windows, Quicktime, etc.

Unfortunately, either the Optibase video card or the SoundBlaster is crapping out and I need to get something new.

Can anyone recommed a software that will take my Sony DVD's (which I believe are VOB files) and convert them to MPEG-1?

I want a reliable software and would rather pay unless there is something out there cheaper.

Please help.

I don't understand why you need mpeg 1? Try Vob2MPG free program. See if the mpg output plays ok for you.
