Sony DVP-S530D region-free hack that works?

Firstly, the region-free hack going around that covers the Sony DVP-S530D and several other players

    (ulti-Region Hack for models:
    DVP-NS300, DVP-NS305, DVP-NS400D, DVP-NS700, DVP-S330, DVP-S335, DVP-S360, DVP-S336, DVP-S525D, DVP-S530D, DVP-S535D, DVP-S536D, DVP-S725D, DVP-S735D

    - Turn On the unit with the remote controller
    - Wait until "no disc" appears in the unit's display
    - Press Pause, 3, 1, 4, 1, 5, 9 , etc.)

does not work! Is there any REAL way to modify this player? I don't want to send it off to someone, and I could solder it if I had to. Help would be greatly appreciated.

"Is there any REAL way to modify this player?"

NOT without a hardware mod (By some fellow in Sweden) that would probably cost more than buying a NEW Region-free player...

      have you tried this :

      - Put the player into Standby mode
      - Press 1 and Return on remote for region 1, 2 and Return for region 2, and so on. Use 0 and Return to return player to default region settings
      - Press P-Mode and Return to play DVD's with the selected region, auto-switching is Off
      - Press Audio and Return for auto-switching On
      - Press Angle and Return for MacroVision On
      - Press Subtitle and Return for MacroVision Off

I am trying to make my SONY DVP-NS300 region free this PAUSE 3,1,4 etc.... is nonsense I have tried all options, even bought a OneforAll Digital £20 model URC-7544 Chipset B01 as oppose to B00 (earlier wont work with SKY+)

However I am trying a link that uses a Palm Pilot http://www.veilingtips.nl/linkupgold...e.php?link=153
It is called DVD Unlocker costs a tenner and professes to work on the DVP-NS300
I will let you know how I get on with it when I have bought a Palm Pilot, some may say its cheaper to buy a multiregion version of the DVD player though, but I will
            try it anyway.............. just because

Scrub all that nonsense with an expensive Palm Pilot or Phillips Onmiremote here is
what you have to do. And save yourself about £100....

Buy a cheap OneForAll Digital URC-7544 about £18, the firmware is important get B01 (latest one) that also allows you to use the remote as a Sky + remote using the code 1175 not given in the manual I might add due to the fact that there is no RECORD button, all the other 8 buttons on the bottom work fine though.

Here is what you have to do:

              Prepare:
              1. Select dvd device on remote.
              2. Hold magic button. until it blinks twice
              3. Enter device code 0533 (This sets the Remote to Sony DVP-NS300)

Program buttons 1..5 with the following codes:
              1 - 189
              2 - 255
              3 - 095
              4 - 221
              5 - 079

              1. Hold magic button. until it blinks twice
              2. Press 994 (this is the code to program each of the keys)
              3. Press magic once
              4. Enter 3 digit code from above
              5. Press button number where to program it, see above, the remote will blink twice
              6. Repeat steps 1 to 5 for all keys

              Have it a go:
              1. Remove any DVD in the DVD Player, put player on standby, with the oneforall
              2. Press 1,2,3,4,5 - and player comes out of standby mode.
              3. press 1,2,3,4,5 - player shuts down back into stand by mode.

              FINI

.. if it fails first time try putting the machine on, waiting for no disk warning and pressing each numbered button in order the player will turn off, when you turn it on
with a DVD inside it should work straight away.

Now simply insert any Region DVD Disc, there are no menus the DVD will play fine.
Incidently this change is permanet, it will not revert back to a region 2 player after you take out the region 4 DVD watch a region 2 then back to a 4, it appears to be
a firmware change or a backdoor that Sony but into the DVP players to limit regions

Simple for less than £20, the DVD is now a multiregion player, this has been tested
on a region 2, 4 disc with no problems, I don't have any other DVD all my region 4 were bought in NZ and Australia. Incidently most NZ DVD have a 2,4 region on them
even when they have only a DVD4 printed on the disc.

              Spideray

P.S. There is no expensive rabbit in my wallet if you don't need a Kameleon at £70, if you find these codes elsewhere and it says rabbit, take it from me

Expensive (Kameleon Rabbit) = Inexpensive (Magic + Magic)

Just say no thanks to mod chips not soldering stuff to my expensive DVD player at a high risk.

High Risk (Mod Chip) > Low Risk (URC-7544 B01 OneforAll Digital)

OK that is it have Phun
