    IDE Contoller's bad

    Since I haven't really solved my problem with burning ( only re-writeables ).
    I have changed my ribbons on both ide controller's and from what i can figure out alone here. ( IS ) that i do have a hardware problem some where. I think when i lost the power back in July some time.. It did effect my computer but not the other one. Any suggestion's on how i can get this fixed, besides taking it into the computer shop.
    The ribbon's i changed are 80 pin instead of the old 40 pin.

          it's been 21 minutes. maybe nobody is around that can help. i suspect most would be less inclined to do so now...please be patient and please do not bump your post. (rule 14)
