Question Movie catalog software. Best one?? Suggestions & why.

I'm getting ready to start the task of cataloging my movies and wanted some input from the knowlegable people here. Every program claims it 's the best and I want to avoid the real junk programs out there.

Thanks,

I use Ant Movie Catalog.

It has a lot of options, including a link to IMDb and best thing...
it's freeware

I have to be partial to my own creation, MovieTrack . I don't claim it's the best, because each organizer has different functions and styles. I do recommend reading into it though, it might be of interest to you. Just click my signature.

i use extreme movie manager and really like it. great automation of importing CDs, sortable by so many fields and conditions, good automated data import from IMDB or 70 other sites including foriegns, export to CSV/XLS/HTML of course, customizable scripting, etc. costs 10 bucks for all future upgrades i think.

i think most collection programs are pretty similar. EMM is just the one i started with and never had to look elsewhere.

I have taken a look at EMM a year ago or so when I started writing MovieTrack. It is indeed one of the most powerfull programs out there, but it has WAY too many fields on main page. Not very user friendly.

I also agree with you, they are all very similar, most of them have a tree view on the left, movie details on the right, and so many have popped up in the past year, but it's too bad because the authors, in my opinion lack creativity. They all copy each other.

I can say this, MovieTrack is definetely one of a kind, not as powerfull as EMM (still very early in its development) but will be there soon.

Viva MovieTrack!

FredMet: Please don't bump old posts.

Also, you only have two posts, but both are to promote a single software. Now you may be just a fan of the software, but this added with the old post bumping is kind of suspicious. You've been warned.
