Default Which Digital Camera should I buy for casual photography?

Hi All,

(OK - I know this question has been asked before. And I have not found my answer in those, therefore I have to ask again)

My necessity is for casual photography during holidays, and I value the following criteria:
Megapixel: At least 5MP
Optical Zoom: The more the better. Min 3X
Memory: Either > 1GB or I should be able to use my Sony memory cards (M2 or Duo)
Budget: Less than Rs 10K (approx US$ 270)

Go for one of those Panasonics (ZS1/3), which have come out as overall winners at DPREVIEW

AFAIK, Sony Memory cards are not usable in any digicams other than Sony.
If that criterion is a must for you, then you have no other option than to buy a Sony. Search in dpreview.com(UncasMS has already given you the link) for models that meet your requirements.
Here is another review which might interest you:http://www.techtree.com/India/Guides...06905-558.html

BTW,the street price is considerably lower than the official price. So, < Rs.10000 in the streets will be something around Rs.12000-14000 officially.
