I'm not sure if there's some innovation in FF. Are either of you using the FF 3.6 Beta that was just released? I noticed that on first run FF used to take 5 or 6 seconds to load. Now even on first run after boot it seems to pop up a lot sooner. At least on Vista64. I haven't really noticed how it is on W7 since the 64 bit machine is my primary.

Yeah, it's nice. All my AddOns seem to work with it. Even the java script descriptions on TV Guide site work. I'm using 3.7Pre on W7. So far the only thing I notice that doesn't work is the TV Guide description when you click on a program in the grid.

Other than that I don't see any issues. AutoCopy, Secure Login, Tab Mix Plus all work. Some themes and stuff like Stylish may not work. But my favorite theme, Gradient iCool does, so it's ok with me. The 3.7Pre supports W7 Jump Lists. Doesn't have that on Vista so I haven't bothered to use it there as other than that it feels just like the 3.6 Beta.

btw I'm running the newer 3.6 FF beta on Vista64 and W7 32 bit. I'm running the older FF 3.6 beta on XP. I just haven't gotten around to updating yet. I don't use XP that much anymore.

I'm using Firefox 2.0.0.20.

I just never liked the look of version 3 and I heard that it consumed a ton more resources than 2 so I never bothered to upgrade. If it isn't broken, why fix it?

I stayed with 2.x for a long time. None of the 3.x stuff I tried worked well until I got to 3.6Pre. The August 5 build of that is solid. Plus I found from other FF users some newer AddOns that worked better than stuff I was using.

FF 3.6 may be a bit of a load to get off the ground, but I think that Jit stuff works. I have it set to dump cache and cookies every time I close it. Even so, web pages snap up there. I have broad band so that helps, but it seems much snappier than 2.x.

Why do I use 7 instead of you? I guess you'll have to answer that question.

Yeah but it failed - Windows 2000 was much better. Some people even say it's better than XP, but sadly it isn't supported anymore.

But really, my laptop came with Vista and I upgraded to Windows 7 when I was able to get it through MSDNAA, and I've been really happy with it so far - even when I put XP on at first, that had a bunch of problems too...

Only copy I ever saw of it running was virus infected. The guy had windows jumping around all over the desktop. I never felt any desire to try it personally.

btw ME being in CAPS kind of gave it away
