Default Pros + Cons to a Lightscribe Dvd-writer

What do you like about it? What do you not? There is one on this new machine I bought and was thinking about using it. But my understanding is that you need the right media. worth it?

I have 4 lightscribe burners & I'm not really impressed. I much rather prefer using printable discs & designing custom labels w/ my Epson R220 printer. You can make fantastic looking full color labels with this inexpensive printer. Not to mention that I don't like waiting 20 min. + for the lightscribe to print.

For CDRs - .30 vs. .56
For DVDRs - .43 vs. .64

Price difference of .20+ for a monochrome disc? No thanks!

That's just my .02, others may have different ideas.

katzdvd I have Lightscribe drives but the only thing I've done with them is
disable the service!! I was toying with the idea of doing the Epson printer but I
guess I'm just too lazy! I get the white inkjet printable blanks and just write on
them with a retractable sharpie!!(Too lazy to even take the cap off the regular kind.)

I do not have one but if it takes 20 minutes to lightscribe a disk, what could be the life of the burner?

I have answered your post but you have never given the courtesy of a reply. Next please do not open a thread that is almost 2 years old. Just open a new thread with your question.
