Default prob with brightnes..

hi..
i'm using divx 4.02..
all stuff i encoded is just working fine, but the vids are much darker than the original videos...sometimes you cannot recognize any details you normally would do on the original...

and believe me: just modifying my graphic adapter's and monitor settings won't help....
perhaps FlaskMPEG is the problem (version 0.6 prewiev 1)??

any suggestions?

Use an other player that let's you adjust the intensity. Some software-DVD-players (that also can play avi) have that feature. Or you use the combination of DVD2AVI and VirtualDUB/nanDUB tu encode the video. Then you can use a VirtualDUB-filter to adjust the colors/intensity of the video.

Regarding the brightness problem, I have one computer with an ancient monitor and when I play a movie on it it is very dark, monitor brightness all the way up. If I port it out to the tv the picture is fine, it is the monitor here that is the prob. If I play the same movie on another computer with another monitor it plays fine as well.

If your using Windows Media Player you can go into the properties of the divx codec and adjust brightness, contrast and so on. There is just a good chance that your movie is ok.

Hi!

I have the exact same problem. The divx or vcd movie turns out darker than the original.

I'm using Win XP and FlaskMPEG 0.6.

I'm hoping that someone has the solution to the probelm.

I don't want to change the brightness in mediaplayer every time. Also, if I burn the vcd movie and watch it on the TV, I don't want to be forced to change the brightness.

Any suggestions greately greately appresiated.
