flashing notebook QSI DVD ROM SDR-081 EMR6

Hello
i have downloaded flashing instruments for my dvd-rom, but there was no instructions. I have more or less learnt how to flash at

and got a bit scared.. so before proceeding i want to be sure of the following points:

I don't know the dvd driver is IDE (i don't think so, because in device manager there isn't "IDE" under dvd drive.
Is it SCSI or something else? How do I proceed?


Can i boot with a "Bootable CD ISO Image" from harddisk or do i have to reboot copying this file onto a cd-rom?

I'm quite a newbie... do you recommand me to try and flash or to read the ripping part?
